Balance Begins Broadsheet

Promotional broadsheet for in-world immersion

My freelance and entrepreneurial endeavors eventually led me to getting involved in developing story and marketing content for an augmented reality game startup. Through a strategic partnership, we secured a table at a local art fair and wanted to use it to build hype for the game we were developing. We had posters that would create an augmented reality effect when scanned with a phone, but with limited time and resources for testing our technology, we wanted to have additional material as a back up. After some brainstorming we landed on the idea of creating a in-universe broadsheet with various news articles, advertisements, hints at conspiracies, and even a political cartoon to introduce people to the fictional world we were creating and garner interest for out game.

Movie Cards (In the Works)

Personal project, still in the works.

Over the years, I’ve developed an extensive digital movie library. It’s gotten a bit too large for guests to browse through the library itself. To solve this problem, I’ve started a project to physically display my movie library in an organized and expandable manner for guests to browse. I am creating custom designed cards (the size of a business card) that can be displayed in a Rolodex or something similar in a manner where I can easily group them into genres and sort alphabetically. I’m also using designs that can be easily scaled to print as movie posters.

Research Incentives Book

Designed for the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies at PSU

This was a long-term project created to provide information and promote research incentives and resources available to professors and students at Pittsburg State University. It was a long-term project because it probably had more different versions that any other project I worked on for this office.

GoPro Advertising Brief

Designed an Advertising Campaigns class, while earning my MBA at Pittsburg State University.

This was a semester-long individual project that was designed to provide us with hands-on experience creating an advertising brief for a campaign that spanned multiple mediums including: publications, radio, TV, outdoor advertising, billboards, and new media. At the beginning of the course, each student in the class randomly given a brand or product that we would develop a variety of advertisements for throughout the semester. I was given GoPro.

During my undergraduate studies I used a Blogger website for my portfolio. I’ll eventually update this portfolio to include the work featured there. For now, I encourage you to take a look. There’s some good work there, including logos, 3D design, packaging, print work, and more…

Class Project: Publication Ad

Designed for Digital File Preparation class while studying Commercial Graphics at PSU.

For this assignment, the challenge was to create two ads for a full color publication. One had to be a full page and the other a partial page. I had some trouble determining the topic of this ad until I was inspired by Jimmy Fallon’s release of the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon iPhone App. I immediately saw the potential of a publication ad. I wanted to use their design themes from the show, website, and the app itself to create the ad. I found a similar font, used their approximate colors, and did my best to stay true to the style of the show. The colors are matches of the web colors, so I was curious as to how they would print.
