Inspired by Marvel&#8217;s Guardians of the Galaxy.<\/h4>\n<p>[May contain Guardians of the Galaxy Spoilers.] Guardians of the Galaxy had a very fun and iconic sound. That sound largely came from a mix tape that the main character, Peter Quill (Starlord), received from his mother when he was a child. At the end of the movie, we find out he has a second tape. The obvious implication is the sequel will have the same iconic soundtrack of (mostly) 70s pop songs. I like to think of my self as pretty good with music, so I decided to guess what songs might appear in the next movie and on Awesome Mix Vol. 2. After that, I went through all the billboard 100 hits from 1967 through 1982 that had a similar sound. I also looked into what I would call pop-adjacent songs, which would include familiar songs that were not on top 100 billboard charts and songs by artists that frequented the charts. I ended up having 10\/12 of the songs from top 100 charts and 2 songs by top 100 artists.
